Module Outline

Bites and Stings

Overview

This module covers evaluation and management of a wide range of injuries that can be inflicted by domestic and farm animals, reptiles, arthropods, arachnids and marine animals.  Because many of these are uncommon, it is important to know were to find information when the need arises, particularly about tetanus, rabies and antivenoms.  This topic is included in the Colorado Rural Healthcare Workforce Initiative curriculum because many of these injuries may be encountered when living, working and visiting rural areas.
