Module Outline

Farmer Mental Health

Driven by positive feedback from farmers and ranchers, this module proposes cultural adaptations to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy designed for clinical use with members of the agricultural community. Based on the agrarian imperative (Rosmann, 2010), clinical techniques and skills are discussed that intentionally incorporate a client’s attachment to the land to improve therapeutic trust, patient engagement, and promote positive behavioral health outcomes.
