Learning Objectives

After completion of this module, you will be able to:

  • Discuss considerations for care of STIs in rural areas.
  • Apply knowledge of risk factors for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) to an appropriate risk assessment, education, and counseling of persons at risk.
  • Describe available pre-exposure vaccinations for vaccine preventable STIs.
  • Summarize recommended STI screening for asymptomatically infected persons.
  • Describe appropriate evaluation, treatment, and counseling of sex partners of persons who are infected with an STI.
