Opioid Use Disorder – Rural Considerations

This module defines opioid use disorder, identifies factors that may contribute to opioid use, describes opioid use disorders in rural communities, and recognizes barriers to treatment in rural communities.

Stacie Schreiner is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Colorado Mesa University. She is the Co-coordinator for the Graduate Nursing programs and the Rural Health Coordinator. She also is an Instructor for the CU School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics-Section of Nutrition, and specializes in pediatric obesity. Her clinical practice is at Children’s Hospital Colorado in the subspecialty of Lifestyle Medicine.
